BIOGRAFIE

Es begann 1991 in Ulm, Germany....
B-Boy´ing, Graffiti; MCs und DJing sind Elemente , die damals im Jugendhaus
bewirkten, dass Mercedes Stewart sich die erste Vinyl zulegt (Grandmaster Flash).
Von da an sammelte sie die verschiedensten Platten der grossen Hip Hop Artists,
aus New York bis nach Los Angeles.

Als damalige Veranstalterin einer erfolgreichen Hip Hop Partyreihe (1998), wurde
das bereits bestehende Interesse fürs Auflegen immer mehr zum Hauptgedanke .
Schliesslich kaufte sie sich das erste Equipment im Jahr 1999 .

Durch eine Veranstaltung im Jahr 2000 , bei der DJ Poison Ivy zum erstenmal
als Vorprogramm auflegt, kann sie sich beweisen und bekommt ein Folgebooking
als Prime-Time DJ. Dies verschaffte ihr widerum monatliche Auftritte in dem selben
Club und weitere Bookings deutschlandweit.

Mittlerweile gehört DJ Poison Ivy zu den meistgebuchten DJs ihres Fachs.

Das Musikrepertoire ist vielseitig : Hip Hop (auch die 90´s), RNB, Dirty South und
Old School, sowie Reggaeton, Dancehall und Miami Bass, sind Bestandteile ihres
Clubsets.
Ihre Fachkenntnisse im Hip Hop Genre sowie die gute Vorbereitung vor jedem Auftritt
bilden den Grundstein dafür, daß DJ Poison Ivy aka “ The Queen of Crunk “stets in der
Lage ist, gezielt auf das Publikum einzugehen.

Dem unterschiedlichen Publikum in den verschiedensten Städten ist es zu verdanken,
daß sie sich zu dem DJ entwickelt hat, der sie heute ist.
Diese Erfahrungen und das viele Reisen bescherten ihr September 2006 eine
Residenz im Stuttgarter No.1. Hip Hop Club “Proton".


Erst kürzlich (Mai 2011) wurde sie ins Red Bull Most Wanted DJ Team nominiert
– als einzige Frau.

Im Jahr 2011 wurde Poison Ivy mit im DJ-Team von DB-Production
(www.dbproduction.de) aufgenommen. 
Zudem betreut Ivy den Nachwuchs als DJ Lehrerin .

Seither hat sich die Marke DJ POISON IVY deutschland – und europaweit etabliert
( Belgien, Holland, Italien, Bulgarien, Kroatien, Österreich, Schweiz, Bahrain )

BIOGRAPHY

It all started in the year of 1991 in Germany-Ulm.

Mercedes Stewart a.ka. DJ Poison Ivy developed in her youth much love for music .
At age 13 she enjoyed B-Boying, Graffiti , DJ-ing and observing MCs at the youth
center she used to hang out .

The interest in dj-ing came with the US Hip Hop movement.
Mixtapes from Funkmaster Flex, Jazzy Jeff & Red Alert were her inspiration.
Her passion for urban vibes led to her first vinyl (Grandmaster Flash).
From there on ,she started collecting records from all major hip hop artists .
She successfully managed and promoted several hip hop events in 1998.

The next step was to buy the equipment (1999) , practice and build her own thing .
During a party January 2000 Poison Ivy had the opportunity to show her DJ skills
next to the headliner.
She convinced and got hired afterwards as main act . That night opened the
doors for monthly gigs plus exclusive bookings across Germany . Meanwhile she
belongs to the most booked DJanes in the German hip hop scene .

Her music style consists of 90´s Hip Hop, RnB, Ragga, Dancehall, Reggaeton,
Miami Bass.
The Queen of Crunk´s expert field is the Dirty South. With the right flow, mix,
scratch and cuts, she can get every club jumping .
Thanks to her large experience and excellent preparation, Poison Ivy satisfies the
needs of every audience. They are her motivation. They made the DJane she is today.

DJ Poison Ivy tours around Germany since 2000. Since September 2006 , she is
resident DJ of The No 1. Hip Hop Club in Stuttgart, Germany "Proton".

Recently (since May 2011) she was nominated (one of 6 DJ´s) National
Red Bull Most Wanted DJ  - as only female.

Since 2011 Poison Ivy belongs to the DJ-Team of DB-Production (www.dbproduction.de)

Furthermore, Ivy gives back to the community by mentoring future deejays .

She Already established artist in her home country, DJ Poison Ivy gained international presence
in Holland, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Bulgary, Croatia, Austria & Bahrain.
